Visitors from around the world come in July to
Colorado’s Rocky Mountains for this annual
three-day experience featuring traditional jazz
bands from across the nation. Groups play in a
variety of unique and intimate listening environments. Dance classes and jazz education

West events, the Evergreen Fine Arts Gallery

Evergreen Open Door Studios Tour
Artists in and around Evergreen open their
studio doors the third weekend in September
for this free self-guided tour. A full-color tour

Big Chili Cook-Off
Come to Evergreen Lake House this
September to sample over 100 different types of
chili, listen to live music or watch the Fire-fighter’s Challenge Competition or Firefight-er’s Tribute. This popular Chili Cook-Off
Competition, attended by thousands, also
includes children’s activities, a photo booth

Lariat Loop Car Cruise
Along the Lariat Loop
National Scenic Byway,
a 40-mile route that retraces historic access
routes to Denver Mountain Parks, there are
spectacular mountain views, wildlife viewing opportunities and over 36 museums and
historical sites. The Byway, 20 miles west of
Denver, is the only national scenic Byway in
a major metro area. It loops through Golden,
Morrison, Lookout Mountain and Evergreen
passing by Dinosaur Ridge, Buffalo Bill’s
Museum and Grave, the Colorado Railroad
Museum, Red Rocks Park and Bandimere
Speedway. Many visitors enjoy scheduling
their Loop Tour with autumn’s changing leaf
colors and plan a picnic at one of the many
parks or a delicious meal at an outstanding restaurant along the way. Downloadable
