Center for the Arts Evergreen Shows
August through November the Center for
the Arts Evergreen will host three significant
shows. In conjunction with the Olympics, a
sport-themed show will be on display through
August. In September an exhibit showcasing
the Center’s art teachers will be featured. In
October through November a favorite returns.
The “Fine Arts of Craft” exhibit featuring
wood, fiber, clay and mixed-media creations
includes an artists’ gift shop.

Last Friday Gallery Walk
Experience art at a higher level when a diverse
collection of Evergreen art galleries stays
open on the last Friday of each month from
5-8 P.M. to showcase the creations of artists
inspired by the natural beauty of the area.

variety of unique art pieces and festive snacks.

The streets of downtown Evergreen fill with
ghosts and goblins for the annual Halloween
Walk. Bring your costumed trick-or-treaters
on October 31st from 4:30-6: 30 P.M. for safe
trick-or-treating with Evergreen businesses.

Evergreen Lake’s Polar Plunge
Courageous divers meet at high noon on New
Year’s Day to take the plunge into Evergreen
Lake’s icy Rocky Mountain waters. This event
draws daring divers and spectators, some
hilariously costumed, and the occasional television camera. Proceeds benefit Drive Smart
safe-driving programs and the Evergreen
Recreation District’s Special Needs Program.

Winterfest Arts Festival
Known as one of the best holiday arts and
crafts shows in the Denver area, this one-day
community festival features an incredible
selection of gallery-quality fine art and unique
crafts. At a Santa’s Workshop young people
can make holiday crafts while parents shop.
Delightful sounds from holiday musical performances make this a festive outing for the
whole family. Held in November at Evergreen
High School, Winterfest’s proceeds promote
community arts programs year-round.
Evergreen Hockey Tournament
Players from around the country come for this
exciting outdoor pond hockey competition
on Evergreen Lake. Twenty-five teams challenge each other in ten rinks on seven acres
of ice at this two-day event in early January.

This popular November fair presented by a
growing group of different Evergreen congregations allows holiday shoppers to buy once
but give t wice. In its 11 years the Fair has raised
over a half million dollars for local, national
and international charities. A wide variety of
fabulous and unique handmade crafts, food,
jewelry, textiles and holiday items from 50
different nonprofit organizations are offered.

Evergreen Ice Golf Tournament
Can’t wait ‘til spring? This January join
other hardy golfers and spectators at an ice
golf tournament on Evergreen Lake. Golfers,
some costumed, may encounter obstacles as
they play the icy lake course with colored
tennis balls. Proceeds benefit the Action
Club for developmentally disabled children.
