I think this speaks a lot about the kind of
community we have. It could not be a better
place to own a business!”
Location
“Metro Denver business opportunities, arts
and entertainment,” says Shephard, “are just
as close to Evergreen as world-class skiing
and mountain adventures.”
McWilliams agrees. “The Foothills com-
munities just west of Denver provide ease
of access to big-city amenities; a short com-
mute to world-class resorts, while offering
the tranquility of quiet roads after sunset
and postcard-quality scenery.” He says that
most people moving to the Evergreen com-
munity remark on the surprising ease of
commuting the mountain roads and major
arteries into Denver for work or play. “Our
systems of maintenance and comprehensive
snow removal—even on the smaller side
roads—remove the anticipated challenges of
winter travel.”
According to Schoonover, Forbes recently
named Denver No. 4 for “Best Places for Busi-
ness and Careers” in the United States. “For
commuters and business owners tapping
into Denver’s thriving economy, Evergreen
is the ideal place to settle down for a wide
segment of the workforce. The commute is
scenic and easy … and a mere 35 minutes to
downtown Denver.”
“Evergreen represents a unique opportu-
nity to live in a gorgeous natural environment
within minutes of an international airport,
world-class entertainment and a robust job
market,” says Briggs. “Denver has been spot-
lighted as one of the best cities in America
for quality of life and job opportunities, and
Evergreen is the best place to live in the metro
Denver area.”
The Greenest Grass
For some, like Louis H. Moore II of Moore at
RE/MAX Alliance, it’s love at first sight when
they visit Evergreen. “I turned to my left and
saw the Continental Divide; to the right and
saw a herd of elk grazing,” he recalls. “It was,
and continues to be, the most beautiful place
I have ever seen. That was the day I decided
to move my business to Evergreen. The com-
munity is warm, welcoming and made my
transition easy. I am lucky that I not only get
to live in this great community, but also, as a
Realtor, I get to watch people fall in love with
Evergreen every day the same way I did.”
For others, the Boomerang Effect kicks
in. They leave Evergreen for college, work or
just to see if the grass is greener somewhere
else, but they end up returning to Evergreen
permanently.
“ A native of Colorado, I moved away, then
decided to come back to the most beautiful
and safe place in the world,” says Linda
Hickerson of Keller Williams Realty Success.
“The mountain serenity, the best schools, the
community, the elk, deer and ‘free’ atmo-
sphere for you and your family, 30 minutes
to anywhere in Denver [for] pro teams, the
symphony and high-tech. Then back home
to peace and purity. I raised my family here
with my dogs and never turned back.”
The same is true for Endsley. “My wife and
I have lived in numerous states across the
country and 16 different residences before
settling in to Evergreen about 17 years ago,”
he says. “Evergreen has the best combination
of lifestyle and conveniences we have found
anywhere. Not too big and not too small.
Evergreen is my forever home.”
Erlandson says he’s known international
pilots who live in Evergreen and say, “It
doesn’t matter where I’ve gone, I always
return to a better place.”
